3 Mathematical Transformations

Myron provides a number of actions that perform mathematical transformations. The actions are initiated from the fast-action bar or from the menu.

Transformations are applied to a subexpression of the active expression called the subject. Section §3.1 describes selection.

The fast-action bar initiates a small number of transformations that are used frequently and can be applied in a generic way to a wide variety of expressions. They are described in §3.2.

The remaining transformations are initiated from the menu. They appear in menu groups that apply to expressions in general, polynomials, equations, collections and conversions. Starting with §3.3, the rest of this chapter describes these transformations in the same arrangement as the menu groupings. Non-transformation menu items are described in §8.
